Preparatory Piano Lessons For Children 4 to 6 Years Old
Build a Musical Foundation
This program is designed to prepare young children between the ages
4 - 6 who are interested in playing the piano. This group class is a perfect
beginning to prepare students for individual private lessons. Preparatory
Piano Lessons are great fun because the child gets to not only master the
basics but also have fun interacting with other children. The children in the
group will be introduced to the piano, taught the keyboard, the musical
alphabet (rhythm values, rests, grand staff, and notes) through fun and
interesting games so they will not even realize that they are going through
the learning process. It is our experience that children enjoy sharing music
with their friends and are motivated by the group experience.
We use a small-group approach to provide a pressure-free class
where your child can develop a strong musical foundation by learning the
concepts, language, notation, and vocabulary of music and its greatest
composers.
Each class covers a variety of music fundamentals:
* Singing and basic solfege training
* Games and activities
* Playing the keyboard
* Music ear training/listening skills
* Rhythm training using percussion instruments
* Basic theory and notation both on keyboard and paper
Class size limited to a maximum of 5 students.
